This is Belle, according to Sheila it's short for Jezibelle. She "stole" my cousin Bernie's heart
I think! Anyway, Belle is Peache's bigger sister, another Minature Schnauzer lady. About a week after Bryan
picked up Peach and returned to Chicago, his dad Bernie decided to go and see if the other sister was still
available. The lady was very excited - seems someone had put a deposit on her and then changed their
minds so she was still there for them if they wanted her. Bernie said "of course" and home she came. Diarmid and Alexander got to first meet Belle when she was about three months old - my what a fiesty little lady. Diarmid has met his match! She stood nose to nose with him and barked away. Scared Alexander, he just likes everyone. Had to laugh because she was so tiny, but what a voice. I think she's going to be a handful in the future! There are a couple of early pictures of Belle in the Cousin's Photogallery. As Bernie sends me more I will add them. She is around 6 or 7 by now and very spoiled. Bernie used to have a home office, then he got transferred back to the office itself. Then Sheila had a home office, so she's pretty set. |

This is Sadie being "bad" and doing her Tripod imitation (Kathy's dog Tripod only has three legs). Sadie came to live
with Belle when her "dad" passed away (Sheila's dad). Sadie is a Schnoodle - Poodle & Schnauzer mix - her
primary colors are grey and an apricot color. She can be a bit shy at times. But, like her sister Belle she has a loud mouth! We call them the "doorbells". You can never sneak up to the house when they are in the backyard. |

This is Peach, a little Minature Schnauzer lady who lives with cousin Bryan (and now Bryan and wife Rosie) in Chicago.
She was his first "baby" and
was the runt of the litter. Bryan got Peach around Easter here in Ohio and took her back with him to Chicago at
the end of his visit. He's even put in a webcam in his apartment so he could keep an eye on her from work when she
was young.! Bryan describes her as sort of lazy and likes to sleep alot. If you're wondering about the name, you can thank Bryan's sister Amy for that one. While trying to come up with a name for her (well, besides, "No, don't do that") Amy decided she looked like a little fuzzy peach. Hence the name. It is Peach, not peaches! Bryan and Rosie were dating when Coco joined the household. Now Peach not only shares the house with both of them, but sister Coco and human sister baby Sophia. |

This is Coco. She was a rescue Schnauzer that Rosie and Bryan adopted. The smallest of the group, and very timid
at times. As she gets older she is doing well with everyone. Last time we were over Bernie's house when Rosie & Bryan
were in town she even sat on Laurie's lap without coaxing. Whenever Bryan & Rosie come to Ohio for a visit she and Peach come along. They both seem to be good car doggies. |

Meet Isis, a lovely Tabby lady who lives with Cousin's Kathy & Rob in Cincinnati. Kathy & Rob got her in Atlanta,
then she made the move to Vienna, Austria; back to Atlanta, then to southern Ohio and now she lives with Kathy's dad
Uncle Ed in Brooklyn, Ohio. Here is her
story as told by cousin Kathy: "It was a typical Saturday. Rob and I were out running around getting things done. We stopped at Kroger because we needed some cash from the bank inside. Rob went in but I didn't. When he returned to the car Rob told me I HAD to see this kitty that was in front of Kroger. A woman was looking for a new home for her. I told him I didn't need to see some goofy cat so away we went although we had to drive away passing in front of the cat. Rob waved good-bye. We were driving down the road and Rob just wouldn't stop talking about the stupid cat. He was driving me NUTS! I finally said, if you want the thing, stop and turn around, NEVER thinking he would because we were almost to our destination. He jumped on the brakes, made a quick "U" turn and back we went. When our mini van arrived, the cat was in this little kid's arms when the lady looked up at Rob driving in. When she saw him, she just whipped the cat right out of the little one's arms and yelled, "I knew you would be back!" Isis was 12 weeks old at that time. Apparently, the father developed allergies so they had to get rid of the cat. So did I (I'm allergic. . . MENTALLY) but we kept her. The woman handed Isis to Rob and handed me all of her flea products (I thought she was an indoor cat????) That was 1994. She has beautiful icy blue eyes, so we named her Isis. The real Isis is the goddess of fertility so we immediately had her spayed. She's been on road trips with Shy and Poco which included visits and travel through Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. She moved with us to Vienna, Austria. She was in Paris for a day when she and Poco were returning to the states. She's living out her kitty life with us back in Georgia, trying to adjust to the crazy new kid, Tripod." Isis is truly Rob's cat. Kathy refers to her as "the prodigal cat" & "the stupid cat" in her e-mails. When I was in Vienna on vacation a few years back got to see her doing "kitty flips" with Rob (quite by accident, but funny none the less) who was shocked. She lived with Shy and Poco for a number of years and eventually she got used to Tripod and then Dunstan. She looks a lot like Padraig (or visa versa). |

This is Dunstan. Have some group shots of him that need to get scanned, and need a solo pic and story from cousin
Kathy. Stop back soon for the update. Here is his story from Kathy: We were so happy with Tripod that we fell in love with the standard poodle breed. We were still living in Georgia and started to contact all our shelter friends to tell them we were looking to rescue a black female standard poodle. I was on Petfinder.com for the longest time. We traveled to different states to check some out. We found one at Altanta Pet Rescue (APR) via Petfinder.com and went to look at her. Unfortunately, another family was there at the same time looking at the same dog. We went through the interview process but she was given to the other family. We were so sad. APR told us they would get large dogs from time to time, poodles for sure, and that they have a great website to check the dogs out. I was checking almost daily. Then one day, I came across a dog named "Kellin". He was a strawberry blonde "thing" that had a certain look about him. We went to APR to check him out. He was a medium sized dog at 35 pounds. We thought that was perfect because Tripod was bigger and could handle play time well. He was rescued from an animal control shelter in a different county. He was picked up as a stray. APR and animal control said he was approximately 4 years old. I really didn't believe that but who am I to challenge the "professionals". When we went out in the field to get to know him, it was amazing how he stayed close to us. Always came back. He wasn't shy. He didn't seem abused but for sure, neglected. His coat was in terrible shape but other than that, he was fine. We brought Tripod to meet him. It was like they were separated at birth. Isis "accepted" him because he realized immediately not to push her buttons. So, we adopted this strawberry blonde that resembles a golden doodle. But when people ask me, "What is he?" I tell them HE is my female black standard poodle that we adopted in July of 2005. How did he get his name? My sister bought us a raffle ticket from her church. We won the monthly cash prize and used it to purchase him. The church's name was St. Dunstan. We immediately dropped the "Saint" part. Many people tell us "He looks like a Dunstan!" Remember when I said they told me he was four years old? Well I don't know of any 4 year old dogs that have a 2 inch, 25 pound growth spurt. He must have been just under a year old. He's passed his Canine Good Citizen test. He's done some therapy dog work, marched in parades, got his picture in the local paper and soon will compete in flyball and agility. He's absolutely nuts but we've channeled some of that energy in his flyball and agility training. Tripod is still a favorite but Dunstan makes everyone laugh. . . except the cat! You can see more pictures of Dunstan and Isis on the Cousin's Photogallery page. We will update as we can. |

This is Peggy and Allen, an orange tabby brother & sister duo. And yes, this picture is correct - their eyes are a
golden orange color like their fur. They look identical except for the tails - Peggy's is long and Allen's is a
short little stubby thing. They came from the local shelter to live with Kathy, Rob & Dunstan in Perrysville. They are trained as barn cats, to help keep down the mice in the alpaca barns. Funny thing was that they were really good with the barn until the day the alpacas arrived. Each separately went running in to the barn to look for mice and when saw the alpacas there turned tail and ran back to the "safe" gargage (attached to the house). When I went to visit the alpacas had been there a few weeks and Peggy & Allen still weren't too sure they liked them. When not in the barn you can find them sleeping on the riding mower/tractor seat in the garage. |
